Gordon K. Hill

Mr. Hill is a non-equity partner at Thorpe, North & Western.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Weber State University in 1992 and a Juris Doctorate from Chapman University School of Law in 2001.  He is licensed to practice in State and Federal courts in Utah and California, as well as before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Hill worked as an analytical chemist for companies in the environmental and pharmaceutical fields.  In these capacities, he has gained technical experience with a variety of analytical methods.  He also gained extensive experience with various laboratory instrumentation used for physical and chemical analysis and identification, including various chromatographic and spectrometry techniques.  He also has experience working with a wide variety of chemical compounds, including hormones and analgesics.

Mr. Hill’s legal practice focuses primarily on intellectual property litigation.  He has experience litigating patent, trademark and copyright issues in federal district courts, as well as before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.  He has also pursued claims pertaining to areas of the law other than intellectual property in both State and Federal courts.  Mr. Hill’s practice also encompasses patent and trademark prosecution, infringement and/or invalidity opinions, licensing negotiation and preparation, and due diligence research.
