About Mark Bettilyon

Mark is a trial lawyer and is the chair of TNW’s litigation section. During the past 30 years Mark has been retained by a wide variety of clients to successfully resolve their most pressing intellectual property disputes.  Mark’s trial experience, judgment and creativity, combined with TNW’s deep bench of intellectual property practitioners, provide clients with advocates who can successfully resolve even the most complicated of legal disputes.

Mark is recognized by Chambers USA in Intellectual Property Law and has been named as one of The Best Lawyers in America in Intellectual Property and Patent Law.  Mark enjoys mountain biking, skiing and a wide variety of other outdoor activities.

Myriad Genetics v. Pathway Genomics - Favorable resolution of patent infringement claims relating to BRCA gene testing.

Orbit Irrigation Products Inc. v. Sunhills LLC et.al. – Favorable jury verdict on claims relating to the theft of trade secrets, defamation and trade mark infringement. Also interfaced with law enforcement on criminal claims brought against certain defendants.

Brigham Young University v. Pfizer Inc. – Represented Brigham Young University in litigation against Pfizer concerning Pfizer’s alleged theft of patent rights and other intellectual property rights relating to the discovery and development of Pfizer’s blockbuster drug, Celebrex®.

Hansen Beverage Company v. CytoSport, Inc. – Defeated temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction in trademark dispute, favorable settlement was procured the first day of trial.

ACTI v. EdiZONE – Jury verdict in favor of the client in a case involving the alleged breach of a patent license agreement.
